AirQ 310 is a wireless controller board that allows the control of a wide array of devices. AirQ 310 provides 6 relays that can be used to turn on and off lights, to control motors, pumps, valves among and so forth. Since all AirQ Control Units can be accessed by the web, AirQ 310 is a really flexible solution to control devices through the internet.

Like all AirQ Networks boards, AirQ 310 is fully integrated into AirQ Networks platform. So it can take advantage of the flexible rule system equipped with all AirQ Control Units in order to build complex applications in just few clicks. AirQ 310 boards are fully accessible by modern mobile devices (iPhone, iPad, Android, Windows Mobile).

AirQ 310 boards provide an integrated Li-Po battery charger and manager allowing boards to be used even in case of power failure.

Quick start guide

Powering board

There are 3 different ways to power an AirQ 310 board: using a common DC Barrel Jack, a 2 wire DC power supplier or a 7.4V Li-Po battery pack.

AirQ 310 provides a DC power jack/connector. This is a common barrel-type power jack for DC wall suppliers that have a 5mm jack, with a 2.1mm center pole diameter. This kind of power suppliers are really common and inexpensive. A switching power adapter is strongly recommended. Power adapter must provide at least an output power of 1A. Be aware that center pole is the positive one.

Another power alternative is offered by AirQ 310 boards: a two pole euro-style terminal block. It's really useful when the board is powered by DIN rail power adapters. The correct polarity is shown on the board. Power adapter must provide at least an output power of 1A.

AirQ 310 includes a complete Li-Po charger and management circuit. This allows the board to keep working in case of power failure. The Li-Po circuit is designed to recharge a 7.4V Li-Po battery pack. The battery charger works with batteries from a capacity of 500mAh up to 4Ah. The correct polarity is shown on the board. Be aware that is really important to respect the right polarity to avoid board damage and battery explosion. During charging operation the charging LED (reported on board as CHG) will turn on. The charging LED color is red. When charge is completed the LED will automatically turn off. Charging circuit is designed to avoid overcharging the battery. For this reason, if the battery is already fully charged the circuit will not start charging battery (LED will remain off).

The battery charger and management circuit is NOT compatible with Li-On, Ni-Mh, Ni-Cd and Alkaline batteries. Using any of these batteries may cause board damage and battery explosion!

Establishing connection to Control Unit

When an AirQ 310 board is powered up, STATUS LED blinks until the board is not linked to Control Unit. A valid connection is established when LED stops blinking and stays on. This feature is really useful during installation process to check if AirQ 310 and the Control Unit can exchange messages. After a connection is established, AirQ 310 will check connection again after about 30 seconds. Press TEST button to force it to check again.


AirQ 310 is the most flexible and reliable solution to control device status through the web. Thanks to AirQ Networks sNET wireless technology, AirQ 310 boards can be installed anywhere needed, without using cables and dedicated installations.

AirQ 310 provides two independent relays that can be used to control external devices such as:

  • Lights
  • Motors
  • Valves
  • Electronic door locking
  • Alarm siren
  • Devices controlled by discrete signal

AirQ 310 control board provides a complete battery charger and management circuit allowing the board to be powered by an external Li-Po battery pack. Thanks to this functionality, AirQ 310 boards can be used even in case of power failure offering the best solution on the market to remote control devices. Moreover, AirQ 310 has been designed to reduce power consumption: it can be powered by a 2Ah battery pack up to 48h.

AirQ 310 is designed to be a really flexible solution with a virtually unlimited number of applications. Being a radio-controlled board, it has a wide range of applications, fom home automation to industrial control. Below there are some of the most obvious applications. More applications are described in detail in our Applications Center.

Lights control

Light control is the most simple and common application of AirQ 310 boards. Thanks to AirQ Networks radio-controlled system, AirQ 310 boards can be placed anywhere needed, without using dedicated cables (only main power needed). Using multiple AirQ 310 boards it is possible to light on wide areas (like open spaces or large industrial buildings). Moreover, since all AirQ 310 boards can be controlled by the web through an AirQ Control Unit, lights can be conveniently turned on/off by web. The AirQ Rule System allows to set up complex rules as well time based lightning.

Home automation

Home automation is the killer app of this century thanks to large diffusion of internet connections and mobile devices like smart phones and tablets. However, dedicated domotics systems can be really expensive especially for pre-existing installations. AirQ 310 boards are successfully used to build up simple, smart and effective home automation solutions. Being wireless controlled board, AirQ 310 board can be placed where needed without altering existing wiring.

Power failure detection

There are contexts in which detection of main power failure is mandatory. For instance, almost every server room is equipped with UPS systems that kick in when the main power supply goes out. However knowing when this occurs is a different thing. While the more expensive UPS systems have some kind of management and alerting system, the most popular ones lack this feature. AirQ 310 boards are able to signal to AirQ Control Unit that main power is off in order to set dedicated alarms by SMS, E-Mail. Moreover, is also possible to interact with other AirQ 310 boards to take appropriate actions (turn on/off a relay).
